According to the latest injury updates from West Ham United, defender Winston Reid is getting closer to a return.
The powerful centre-half injured his hamstring against Chelsea recently but may not get up for the weekend's clash with Sunderland.
Stijn Vandenbroucke, West Ham's head of medical and sports science, suggests the New Zealand defender is not likely to be available when the Black Cats visit Upton Park on Saturday but was confident he would return soon.
He told the club's official website: "Winston Reid is recovering and rehabbing well from the hamstring injury he suffered against Chelsea on 4 March. He is working hard on his fitness and is getting closer to a return."
Reid has been a key figure in the Hammers' defence this season and recently signed a six-and-a-half-year contract with the east London club.
