New York See off San Jose in US Open Cup

John Wolyniec's 80th minute goal lifted New York Red Bull to a 2-1 victory against the San Jose Earthquakes in a US Open Cup play-in match at Buck Shaw Stadium.

Mike Petke opened the scoring for New York after only 2 minutes.

It took San Jose until the 71st minute to level the scores through a Pablo Campos strike only for New York to secure the victory 9 minutes later.

New York face Eastern conference rivals DC United in the next round.
