New York Red Bull general manager Erik Soler has played down rumours suggesting the club was set to sign two former France internationals.
Aston Villa midfielder Robert Pires and Hercules striker David Trezeguet have both been heavily linked with a move to the MLS club but Soler said they have not actively pursued the former teammates of current star Thierry Henry (at Arsenal and Monaco respectively and collectively in the French team).
"It's always like this. We're offered Robert Pires, (Trezeguet), I'm being offered really good players, players that were great, all the time. We're not in the market for it,'' Soler told the NY Post.
"We just tell people, politely, we're not looking at any changes to the roster at the moment, and that's it.''
