New York’s Sassano on trial with Red Bull Salzburg

New York Red Bulls midfielder Luke Sassano has begun a three-week trial with Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

The 24-year old will try his luck with New York’s brother club during his off-season as the Red Bulls did not qualify for MLS play-offs this season.

Sassano began his career in the USL Premier Development League with the San Francisco Seals in 2006 and also played for the San Jose Frogs in the same year.

He was drafted with the 32nd pick of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by Red Bull New York, and made his debut on 5 April, 2008 in a home game against Columbus Crew.
