New York Red Bulls recruit Carl Robinson is hoping he can make his debut for the club against the Seattle Sounders this weekend.
The 33-year old Welshman joined the Red Bulls after being released by Toronto FC during the off-season and after finally receiving his P-1 visa, is hoping he can be right for the Qwest Field clash on Saturday.
"I trained today so obviously it will depend on how I come through tomorrow and Friday and obviously I have to speak to the manager," Robinson said. "I trained today and there seemed to be no problems."
But Robinson did reveal that obtaining his visa was a massive problem and has taken its toll on him trying to get the fitness up to play his first game with his new club.
"Honestly it was a nightmare," he added. "I was there for two days, sat for hours. It takes its time and was a long process, which probably didn't help me with regards to the first game because I was trying to get fit for that game. Spending two games in an embassy isn't very good."
