The Colombian ace netted a hat-trick as the Red Bulls brushed aside Toronto FC 4-0 in Florida and after the match, he expressed his excitement about a new season approaching.
"Pre-season has been good. The atmosphere in the camp has been great. I have been enjoying every second of it," he said.
Angel believes his own form is beginning to improve and said the fact he had plenty of chances bodes is a good sign the team is playing well.
"I feel little by little picking my form. Any game is important for any striker to score goals," he added.
"When you get a hat-trick, obviously that is building your confidence up. I felt well today in general, not just because of the goals, the movement, the touch, the work rate, feeling well in general.
"I felt well right from the beginning. I had a really good touch right at the beginning of the game that I was just out of balance and I couldn't hit it properly to score the goal. After that I kept moving, trying to find the chances.
"When they came I took them. I'm always worried when I don't get the chances. I would rather miss them but I would like to have them. Today I had three or four chances and I took care of them."
Red Bulls coach Hans Backe was happy with the performance if the team and expressed delight in some of the goals created, especially the fourth goal which was set up by three rookies - Tony Tchani, Austin da Luz and Conor Chinn.
"We finished the game with five rookies on the pitch and they looked very comfortable and solid on the ball," Backe said. "The way they scored the last one was excellent. It reminds about the goal that Tim Ream set up in the first half to Roy Miller when Juan Pablo scored. It was two or three beauties, really today."
