New York Red Bulls striker Henry: Why I rejected MLS All-Stars last season

New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry has explained why he rejected MLS All-Stars selection last season.

Arsenal legend Henry will join Red Bull teammates Tim Ream and Juan Agudelo at Wednesday's MLS All-Star game against Manchester United.

"The league wanted me to play last year, and I was like are you kidding me? I didn't even play and you want me to go play in the all-star game?'' Henry told the New York Post. "You've got to have some respect for the guys that are in the league.

"I said the day that I will deserve it, then I will maybe go. That's not up to me. I thought it would have been a lot disrespectful to play in last year's all-star game without playing a minute in the league.''
