New York Red Bulls star Juan Pablo Angel admits he misses Aston Villa.

"I miss Villa a lot. I hope one day soon to be able to go back and see everyone again," he said. "I miss a lot of things about life in England. I spent seven years of my life there so, of course, it has taken away a beautiful piece of my heart.

"But it was time to move on and I am now experiencing something different.

"I hope things work out for Villa this season. I am confident they are heading in the right direction and I hope it works out here for me too."

Angel has scored 13 goals in 15 games since joining New York earlier this year.
