New York Red Bulls management are pleased with their deal for Luis Robles.

The American goalkeeper has been signed from Kaiserslautern.

"He's a big, strong athletic goalkeeper, those are attributes I look for in any goalkeeper,'' keepers coach Todd Hoffard told the New York Post. "Obviously somebody of his stature, he's got an international under his belt and has also played in the Bundesliga and brings a wealth of experience along with that. If you're played in the Bundesliga, you must be pretty good.

"But I've seen him play some games from the last several years and was impressed by his abilities. I think he's going to add more experience to our goalkeeping core, and on the competitive side it can only help.''
