New York Red Bulls are chasing Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne.

The Daily Star Sunday says the Irish international is keen on the switch from Aston Villa to the Big Apple - with his contract due to expire and Red Bulls offering him £50,000-a-week wages.

Talks between Villa and the MLS club are almost finished - and providing Dunne, 33, is available on a free transfer, the deal could be completed within two weeks.

The only snag is Dunne's ongoing groin injury.
