New York Red Bulls have confirmed they will finalise a deal for Notts County striker Luke Rodgers by the end of the transfer deadline.
The 28-year old has been linked with a move to the MLs club for the past few weeks and they are now trying to push through the papers to finalise the deal before Thursday.
"I'm not sure yet (on Rodgers)," said head coach Hans Backe. "We're trying, but Thursday is the deadline. I'll talk to him today and if he gets the papers he needs.
"Wednesday he will get them, so we're short of time. But I hope it will be done."
Rodgers played under Back for seven weeks when he was at the helm of the English League Two club and if the Red Bulls can push through the papers, the duo will be reunited.
