New York Red Bulls have been slapped with a $10,000 fine following comments made by general manager Erik Soler.

Soler unleashed a tirade directed at referee Ricardo Salazar after the 3-3 draw with Portland Timbers last weekend and the club has now copped the wrath of MLS officials.

The Norwegian was particularly riled about the red card given to Thierry Henry for an off-the-ball incident in which he patted Adam Moffat on the head but has paid the price for his outburst with one of the heftiest fines handed out in MLS history.
