New York Red Bulls dismiss pressure over Real Salt Lake stadium launch

New York Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio is trying to find answers to his team's latest bad run of form as pressure mounts for points in the play off race.

"I have tried to build a team that is capable of playing football, but in the last two games we haven't connected more than 4-5 passes together," Osorio said. "We need to play. That's all I'm asking the players tomorrow -- let's play football, let's play our game and hopefully they will do that."

Playing Real Salt Lake in the new stadium opening game is something Osorio thinks could play into New York’s favour.

"This is a fantastic opportunity because of all the excitement," Osorio said. "We have to direct all our attention to only one objective -- that's to try to win the game. That's all we're concerned about."

New York are currently 4th in the Eastern Division on 35pts with only the top three of each division guaranteed a play off berth – the next best two teams from both divisions then take the remaining spots.
