New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe has welcomed new defensive signing Babajide Ogunbiyi.

Ogunbiyi joined Red Bull this week from Denmark's Viborg.

"I haven't seen him that much,'' Backe admitted. "He's been playing in Denmark. I've only been talking to some of the coaches in Denmark.

"But the guys in Denmark said that he had done quite well. He didn't play in the Premiership (the highest division), but did well in first division, and the recommendation was that he could probably be a guy playing in Denmark in the (Premiership), and that's good enough for me."
