The New York Red Bulls are still searching under every possible rock for a striker. The latest is Sahr Senesie, a 23-year-old from the diamond-producing town of Koindu in Sierra Leone. He's been on trial and played in the reserve win over D.C. on August 26th, but got a knock and came off after 20 minutes for Sainey Touray. The club signed Touray to a developmental deal, but Senesie is still on trial and was around today, says the New York Post.
At 11 he'd fled Sierra Leone for Germany, and eventually signed with Borussia Dortmund. He led their Under-16 team in scoring, then led the Under-19 team to two junior Bundesliga titles before joining the big club in 2005. But he saw sporadic playing time, leaving this year to trial with Nottingham Forest a month ago.
