New York Red Bulls and Big East Conference agree to partnership

New York Red Bulls have signed a three-year deal with 'The Big East' Conference men's soccer championship.

The tournament will be held at Red Bull Arena from 2010 through to 2012 and Red Bull sporting director Erik Stover said it was a great opportunity for the club.

"The Red Bulls organization is excited to bring the BIG EAST Men's Soccer Championship to Red Bull Arena," said Stover.

"One of our goals is to help elevate the sport of soccer in the United States and our partnership with the BIG EAST Conference is an important step in that process."

The 25,000-seat stadium will open on March 27, 2010. The BIG EAST will hold its semifinal and championship games at the venue - along with team practices before each day of competition - on November 12 & 14 of next year, November 11 & 13, 2011 and November 9 & 10, 2012.
