New York Red Bulls overall sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer has confirmed the club is highly interested in signing Hamburg striker Ze Roberto.

Beirsdorfer told German newspaper Bild that the Brazilian is at the top of his priority list for the Red Bulls.

The German was sporting director at Hamburg before moving to Red Bulls football so has a relationship with Ze Roberto making the potential signing a definite possibility.

The 35-year old Brazilian has returned from injury in brilliant form for Hamburg, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 14 league appearances.
