New York Red Bulls are moving for Liverpool defender Kolo Toure.

The Sunday Mirror says Toure is poised to swap the Reds for the Red Bulls - by moving to America.

Centre-back Toure, 34, wants a two-year contract extension not the single season on offer at Anfield.

Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls have now said they are ready to hand the Kop star a deal until 2017.

A source close to Toure said: "New York Red Bulls have made an approach for Kolo. Once the time comes, we will decide what is best for him."
