New York Red Bulls managing director Erik Stover has been named the 2010 Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year.
Stover’s third year at the club was his most successful to date, with the Red Bulls making the play-offs as well as playing exhibition matches against Manchester City, Tottenham and Juventus. He also had a strong hand in bringing superstars Thierry Henry and Rafael Marquez to New York.
“I am extremely honored to be named the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year,” Stover said in a release. “As a team, we have worked very hard to build a club that our fans can be proud of.
"I think we have taken a significant step towards this goal with what we accomplished this year both on and off the field. I want to thank all of our employees, fans and the league for their support and we are optimistic that we have a very bright future ahead.”
