Barcelona striker Thierry Henry is ready to sign for New York Red Bull. The Sun says the Arsenal legend's Barcelona contract ends in the summer of 2011.

Manchester City have been keen on the hitman.

But Henry, 32, has told close pals he wants to play in Major League Soccer - like David Beckham.

He has targeted a move to New York Red Bulls.

The French star said: "There is nothing concrete about New York. I have a contract at Barcelona until 2011 and that is the only reality at present."

Red Bulls' ex-Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel said: "His arrival would be great for the MLS."
