New York Red Bulls managing director Erik Stover is confident the struggling club can attract a star player.

Stover believes that the club may already have what MLS calls a 'Designated Player' in Juan Pablo Angel but still maintains that another big player can be lured to New York.

"Absolutely,'' Stover said. "(Although) I'd argue that we already have one. Juan Pablo Angel has been a great ambassador for us, what a Designator Player should be. But absolutely we're in the market (for a DP).

"When Red Bull bought the team, they made it very clear we weren't going to sit by and do things slow. I can't tell you who the names are; we have a list, we're working on it. As we get to next season and have a better idea how the CBA works out, we'll have a better idea what player we're after.

"(We need) a credible product on the field. Over the years we've struggled,'' Stover admitted.
