New York Red Bulls head coach Juan Carlos Osorio was very happy with his teams commitment following their 1-0 away defeat to Kansas City. New York were up against it after only two minutes after Carlos Johnson was sent off for taking down Kansas City striker Herculez Gomez inside the New York penalty area, denying the midfielder a goal-scoring opportunity.
The ejection was the fastest in MLS history.
"To play for 87 minutes with 10 men, it was rough. But I think we did very well. Credit to the guys," said Osorio, thinking the Red Bulls did enough to earn a point. "We fought for every ball, we competed very well. We had our chances. They had theirs.
"We have enough depth to handle it, but it is frustrating," Osorio continued. "I would rather make those decisions on my own opinions based on tactical facts."
