New York Cosmos approve Japanese time keeper

Japanese watchmaking company Seiko has reached an agreement to become the official timekeeper of North American Soccer League (NASL) outfit the New York Cosmos, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. Seiko will use the partnership to promote the recently launched Seiko Astron watch, which features a solar GPS system. It will receive branding opportunities around the Shuart Stadium at Hofstra University, where the Cosmos play their home fixtures.

The Seiko logo will also appear beside the on-screen match timer during the broadcasts of Cosmos home matches on One World Sports, and on the game countdown clock on the club's official website.

"We are delighted to partner with such a globally-recognised brand in Seiko," said Cosmos chief operating officer Erik Stover. "We look forward to working with Seiko as we continue to strengthen our club both on and off the field."
