New York Cosmos announce deal for El Salvadoran forward Andrés Flores

The New York Cosmos announced that the team has signed El Salvadoran forward Andrés Flores on loan from Turín-FESA Fútbol Clube (El Salvador).

As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"I'm really excited to be joining the Cosmos," Flores said. "It's a championship-winning squad with a lot of quality players, but I'm here to try and help the team and ready for a new challenge."

Flores, 23, a San Salvador native, has made 31 appearances for the El Salvador senior national team, with his debut appearance coming in 2008 against Trinidad & Tobago. Flores has also served as captain for the national team, most recently on June 7, 2014, in a friendly match versus Spain in Washington D.C.

Flores began his youth career with Academia Chelona and moved to Argentina's River Plate in 2006, where he spent three years. In 2009, Flores returned to El Salvador with A.D. Isidro Metapán where he made over 60 appearances and led the club to multiple Primera Division titles. In 2012, he joined Viborg FF in Denmark for one year on loan before returning to Metapán.

"We're delighted to have added Andrés Flores to our squad." head coach Giovanni Savarese said. "He's a young player with lots of international experience and potential. His pace and skill will add another dimension to our attack and gives us more options on the forward line."
