New York Cosmos and Urawa Reds on trail of Adelaide United’s Flores

Adelaide United playmaker Marcos Flores is attracting interest from J-League club Urawa Reds and expected MLS expansion franchise New York Cosmos.

The Argentine midfielder today confirmed to the Adelaide Advertiser that bigger clubs were after him but did not actually name who they are.

Reports suggest that the Urawa Reds will make a move for him in the January transfer window whilst the Cosmos, who have reformed and may get the 20th MLS license to enter the league in 2012 or 2013, are keen to look at Flores when his Adelaide contract ends.

Flores said it would be nice to join a ‘bigger club’ but said his primary focus was to win the title with Adelaide this term.

“Of course you have dreams (of playing at a higher level)," Flores said.

"Of course (I'll consider it).

"I'm really proud that big teams are following me. I am focusing on this league and I'm trying to get better.

"But when this season is finished and everyone is relaxed, I hope to be happy because I want to win and after we can talk about that (moving)."
