Frank Lampard will be out of action for up to four weeks, reports New York City FC.
The veteran English midfielder suffered a calf strain in the weekend's 2-2 draw with FC Dallas and is now expected to be sidelined for around a month.
A statement from NYCFC read: "New York City FC announced Monday that Frank Lampard is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks after suffering a low grade strain of the left soleus muscle (calf)."
The former Chelsea and Manchester City star has scored 12 goals in 18 MLS outings this season which has helped New York City to third position on the Eastern Conference table after 30 matches.
