New York City to play St Mirren, Brondby in Manchester friendlies

New York City FC have finalized their pre-season schedule ahead of their inaugural MLS campaign.

The expansion franchise will travel to England to take on St Mirren and Brondby in February friendlies at parent club Manchester City's brand new City Football Academy.

NYCFC will meet Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren on February 10 before welcoming Danish side Brondby on February 15.

Head coach Jason Kreis said in a statement: "St Mirren and Brondby will provide top class opposition for us ahead of our first competitive MLS game against Orlando on March 8th. We're delighted to be taking on such strong opposition at a very important stage of our pre-season.

"Following our training camp in Florida these matches will provide the perfect opportunity to test our progress as a team."

NYCFC kick-off their first-ever MLS season with a trip to fellow newcomers Orlando City on March 8.
