New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira could decide on an offer from Nice in the next 24 hours.

Nice are eager to appoint Vieira as their new head coach after losing Lucien Favre to Borussia Dortmund last month.

L'Equipe says Vieira is expected to announce his decision today.

The stumbling block is Manchester City, which still control Vieira's contract. City had sent the Frenchman to sister club NYCFC to continue his coaching education with the view to him eventually succeeding Pep Guardiola.

There have been doubts raised whether City will release Vieira from his NYCFC deal to take a job in Europe.
