New York City FC have confirmed the signing of Javier Calle from Independiente Medellin.
The MLS expansion franchise have captured the 23-year old midfielder on a season-long loan from the Colombian club with the view to a permanent deal.
Of the former Colombia youth international, NYCF head coach Jason Kreis spoke glowingly about what the new addition can bring to his roster for the 2015 MLS season.
"We are very pleased to bring Javier on board. He is a left-footed, versatile and creative player who I believe will adapt well to MLS and give us some different options in midfield," Kreis told NYCFC.com.
"He has impressed both at club and international level and we are confident that he will continue to develop with us in New York."
Calle, who has had previous loan spells with America de Cali and Jaguares de Cordoba, added: "I'm very excited to join such an amazing club and have the opportunity to play for coach Kreis.
"I'm looking forward to joining my talented new teammates and my goal is to help New York City FC to succeed as quickly as possible."
