Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has admitted that he would go after some of his old Birmingham City players if he thought they would benefit the club.
The Scottish tactician left his post at Birmingham last week to take the job at Villa Park and although he stopped short of talking about names, he did say that some City players will be looked at.
"I know there are many good Blues players there but the policy that I have always maintained is not to talk about other clubs' players," said McLeish.
"I'm getting bombarded with text messages off agents - we are just going to assess things at the moment.
"If I thought a (Birmingham) player could improve Aston Villa Football Club why not?"
