Vicente Soriano has been named new Valencia president after Juan Villalonga's departure yesterday.

Villalonga has left the board and Soriano announced yesterday that sports director Xavier Azkargorta has also been dismissed, along with all other appointments made since Villalonga's arrival 15 days ago.

Juan Sanchez has been reinstated as Valencia sports director, having been moved sideways when Villalonga accepted an invitation from majority shareholder Juan Soler to join the board.
