New USL outfit FC New York announce open trials

FC New York are holding their 1st Annual Player Combine for eligible college seniors, qualified free agents and talented amateur players that are seeking a professional contract. The weekend is set for November 13-14 2009 at the Mitchell Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale.

"Do you think you have what it takes to play professional soccer" that will be a question guys will have to ask themselves says Dave Bond, part of F.C. New York's technical team. Bond should know, as a former professional who hails from Yorkshire England and came through the academy at Barnsley FC.

A selected number of applicants will be invited to participate in two days of intense training and scrimmages beginning with an evening session on Friday, November 13th.

The application cost is $175.00 and does not include travel, hotel room nights or meals. Recommended lodging will be through the F.C. New York office. Applications must be completed in advance. Interested players should email [email protected] to request a set of forms space is limited.

"We have always said we felt there was tremendous talent in the area and we have received hundreds of requests so far," said F.C. New York's President Doug Petersen. "This combine is the most effective way for those players to have an opportunity to impress our staff and possibly secure a professional contract."
