Blackburn Rovers are the subject of a new £55 million takeover bid.

The Sun says the consortium - a group of Asian businessmen based in Yorkshire - are at an advanced stage of talks with Blackburn.

Trustees acting for the family of the late Jack Walker have been looking to sell for the past year.

A proposed deal with American-based tycoon Dan Williams fell through in October.

Now the consortium are in pole position and are confident an agreement can be reached within the next few days.
