New Spain coach Luis Enrique: I am ready for this challenge

New Spain coach Luis Enrique is determined to rebuild the La Roja after a disappointing World Cup.

A trip to England and Wembley Stadium kicks things off for the coach's Roja career, which he is optimistic about despite the side's poor run at the World Cup.

"[I am] more than ready to face the challenge," he said in official RFEF media. "And eager to start.

"[The job] is special as we can represent our country, [but also because] this squad is used to winning many things and is a reference point the world over."

Former Barcelona coach Enrique admitted that he never thought about the Spain job when he became a coach, given how difficult it is to plan ahead in the current football climate.

"I didn't know about the short, medium or long-term, since in football you cannot decide very often when the best time is, but now the opportunity has come," he noted.
