Southampton's new owners say Matt Le Tissier could still have a role to play with the club.
On Wednesday, the League One side's future was secured after Swiss businessman Markus Liebherr completed his takeover.
The news came as a major relief to Saints supporters following the serious threat of liquidation.
Southampton legend Le Tissier had been involved in a takeover attempt with the Pinnacle Group, but the bid was withdrawn.
However, chief operating officer Andy Oldknow has confirmed club officials are to meet with Le Tissier over his views on the South Coast outfit's future.
Oldknow told Sky Sports News: "Matt's fantastic. He's been brilliant and nothing but first-class in terms of his engagement with me.
"In due course we will be meeting with him to listen to his views. We don't have anything in mind for Matt. Let's see what happens."
