New Roma signing Steven Nzonzi insists he hasn't arrived to replace Daniele de Rossi.

The former Sevilla midfielder was presented to local media on Thursday.

"I'm a central midfielder, I recover the ball and make the team play," Nzonzi explained.

“I try not to give the ball away, the goal is to do my best. I hope I'll be ready as soon as possible, the holidays are over and I'm working hard to be in the best possible condition.

“De Rossi? He and Kante are both excellent players, they have experience and have won a lot. I think I can coexist with them.

“I play alongside Kante against Denmark, we'll see if the same happens here with De Rossi. I've played every midfield role across my career, I can play in a two as well.

“I'm available to the Coach, our job is to adapt to what the team needs. I played in front of the defence at Sevilla but I've also played in other roles throughout my career."
