West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami has seen hopes of a move to AS Roma blocked.
UniCredit have reportedly told Roma to forget trying to sign the Switzerland international.
The Italian bank is currently in nominal control of the club after agreeing a debt resettlement plan with Roma President Rosella Sensi.
UniCredit has told the board that the priority for the moment must be to lower the wage bill.
A group of Roma ultra also protested against Behrami's transfer yesterday, taking issue with his past as a Lazio player.
