New Real Madrid Ronaldo appeal rejected

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is banned from tonight's game at Deportivo La Coruna.

Having seen their initial appeal against Ronaldo's two-match suspension rejected by the Spanish football federation's appeals committee on Thursday, Madrid took their case to Spain's sporting disciplinary committee (CEDD).

Madrid had been hoping that Ronaldo would be allowed to play against Depor prior to the CEDD making their final ruling on the player's ban in the coming days, but that bid was turned down yesterday.

Ronaldo will now have to sit out the clash with fifth-placed Depor at the Riazor, where Madrid are attempting to record their first win in almost two decades, and will then find out if he will also miss next weekend's home game with Espanyol.
