Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor is a wanted man by new Rangers owner Craig Whyte. The 29-year old Scotland international has been linked with a possible Ibrox departure this summer and although he has stated his intent to stay, Whyte has now made sure that the club will retain one of their prized assets following the takeover which was completed on Friday.
"If the deal had not gone ahead on Friday, Rangers would have been in the position where they would have had to sell Allan McGregor, but that is no longer the case," Whyte told SunSport.
McGregor has been at the forefront of Rangers' success in the last three seasons and was attracting interest from a number of clubs including earlier curiosity from Manchester United, Aston Villa, Sevilla and Bursaspor.
