New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is excited to be taking charge.
Gerrard revealed he turned away up to eight clubs who wanted to launch his managerial career, with one eye on succeeding Jurgen Klopp in the distant future.
But when Rangers came calling he admitted: “It was a no-brainer for me. I got a different feeling in my stomach from the previous opportunities I've had in terms of being a number one.
“I got a special feeling and I knew Rangers was for me. This opportunity doesn't come around all the time a clubs of this size with the stature, history and tradition.
“I believe I can come in here and improve things and I believe I can make these fans happy.
“It's a huge club and when the call came it was a no-brainer.
“Pressure is not a bad thing for me. There will be lots of scrutiny – but that's what I love. Bring it on!"
On rival offers, he added: “Before Rangers, yeah. I had probably as many as eight other opportunities to be a manager, to be a number two, to be a coach.
“There were different opportunities which presented themselves since I came home from Los Angeles.
“But I never got the right feeling from them. When Rangers came, it was a game changer."
