Notts County boss Hans Backe will not dive into the transfer market until he has assessed the quality of his current players. Backe has been told he will have money to spend in the January transfer window to boost the club's ambitions of winning promotion to League One.

"It's only been one game so I have to wait a little bit more," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "I don't know that much yet. Sven is responsible for transfers and I will have talks with him about that.

"I think now, at this time, it's about seeing the current players we have and what they can do."
