New Manchester City signing Bernardo Silva has admitted he is "very happy" with the club's links to Benfica keeper Ederson, reports Sky Sports.
The midfielder played alongside Ederson in the Benfica youth teams.
Silva, who became Pep Guardiola's first signing of the summer when he joined for £43m from Monaco last week, spoke about the Brazilian stopper at a Portugal news conference on Tuesday.
"If it is confirmed that Ederson goes to Manchester City I'll be very happy, because I know him very well," Silva said.
"I had the pleasure of sharing some moments at Benfica's youth teams, although he is a year older than me. He is a great goalkeeper and if I can play with him in the next season I will be very happy."
