New Liverpool keeper Karius unlikely to play for Germany at Rio 2016

New Liverpool signing Loris Karius is unlikely to be selected in the Germany squad for the upcoming Rio Olympics in Brazil.

Karius has been mentioned as one of the contenders to be included by Germany's U23 team for Rio 2016l but the Liverpool Echo states that the 22-year-old's selection looks unlikely.

Germany already have a plethora of options to choose from in the form of FC Koln's Timo Horn, Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno and Freiburg's Alexander Schwolow and as a result, Karius looks set to miss out, much to the joy of his new club who are keen for him to start pre-season training with the rest of the squad.
