New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits he's still in contact with his former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

He still keeps in touch with his old boss, now at Real Madrid, and had regular text chats when the chance of joining Liverpool arose.

Rodgers revealed: "I have a wonderful relationship with him.

"He gave me the opportunity at Chelsea and was very encouraging about this job."
