New Liverpool boss Klopp takes great pride in rise of Bayern star Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski's development into the player he is today delights Jurgen Klopp.

The new Liverpool manager signed Poland international Lewandowski from Lech Poznan when he was manager at Borussia Dortmund back in 2010 and has seen the striker progress into a world-class player.

Lewandowski, now with German giants Bayern Munich, is in a rich vein of form in recent times and his displays have certainly not been lost on Klopp who was appointed as Reds boss last week.

"The biggest satisfaction you can get is when you take a player from Poland, from a small club and watch him play like he does today," said Klopp.

"The difference between that player we signed and the player he is today is unbelievable."

27-year-old Lewandowski scored in Poland's 2-1 Euro2016 qualifying win over the Republic of Ireland on Sunday to make it 19 goals in his last 10 matches for both club and country.
