New Iran coach Mayeli Kohan to explain comments to IFF

Newly appointed Iran national team coach Mohammad Mayeli Kohan will be forced to explain comment she made to the Iranian Football Federation (IFF).

Appointed earlier this month, Mayeli Kohan has already landed himself in trouble after making comments directed at former national team and current Esteghlal coach Amir Ghaleneoi.

Mayeli Kohan, who remains coach of club side Saipa, was targeted by Esteghlal fans when they met Saipa in the Iranian league on the weekend and fired back by blasting his opposing tactician.

"During the match we were attacked with the worst insults," he said.

"These insults were led by little people and their entourage…I am telling these people who call themselves the General [Ghaleneoi] that they do not have any educational background and qualifications."

It is believed that Mayeli Kohan made further remarks directed at the Esteghlal boss and will now be forced to explain his antics to the IFF.
