New Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri has paid tribute to former club Napoli.

Mazzarri left Napoli last week for Inter.

"With Napoli in the last few years we have done really extraordinary things. The choices that I have taken have been hard. They are close to my heart," Mazzarri told Radio Marte.

"Since I decided to leave Napoli, I have taken my things home and emptied my locker, in life you have to look forward.

"I am a little excited at the moment so I prefer not to talk about the choice made for my future. Out of respect for Napoli, I will not say anything about who will sit in my place.

"I send a big salute to all of Napoli's fans for the love they gave me.

"I hope I have reciprocated the love they have shown me, they have given so much to this cause."
