Houston Dynamo appointed Matt Jordan as its new vice-president and general manager on Tuesday.
The 39-year old former goalkeeper, who was a MLS All-Star in 1999, has stepped in to replace Dom Kinnear who acted as head coach and general manager during his successful spell in Houston.
Jordan steps into the role in the hope that he can lure some new faces to the BBVA Compass Stadium ahead of the 2015 MLS season in order to bring some versatility and variety to the Dynamo roster.
"Our focus, and my focus, is going to be to bring an attacking and very diverse group to the field," Jordan said.
"I think the key is we work together that get pieces in place that are a reflection of our market, our city and our fan base."
Jordan added: "I can tell you there's a lot of very talented and very good pieces on that team right now that we feel very good about.
"At the end of the day, it's important to have players on the field that are committed to winning. It's a critical period right now. We're going to make the best decisions for the club moving forward."
