New Everton chief Marcel Brands is set for talks with Marco Silva about the Goodison Park manager's job.

The Daily Mail says Silva remains Everton's No 1 target to replace Sam Allardyce, who was sacked at the end of the season.

Silva has been on gardening leave since he was removed as Watford boss in January with the club blaming Everton's approach for him as the reason behind the move.

Watford made a formal complaint to the Premier League and the two clubs remain in discussions over compensation, but it is unlikely to prevent the 40-year-old replacing Sam Allardyce who was sacked last week.
