New England Revolution star Joseph unsure about Grenada duties

Shalrie Joseph admits he is unsure whether or not he will take up the offer to play with the Grenada national team at this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The New England Revolution captain could be away from club duties for a few weeks if he commits to his nation but says he still hasn't made up his mind.

"My priority is MLS. This is where my work is, this is my job and nothing above that - other than family and my love of the game - is going to come in front of that," he said.

"So, I'll give it this week and see how I feel after the LA game.''

Joseph can still pull out of the Grenada squad prior to their first match on June 7 but Revs vice-president of player personnel Michael Burns indicated at this stage the midfielder was in the squad.

"The Gold Cup is something we don't have the authority to say no to, and we wouldn't say no to,'' Burns said. "It's the player's decision. Shalrie asked for his release and we granted it - it's his decision.''
